Jeff has called Colorado home for nearly a decade, though his North Carolina roots still make him the biggest Carolina Panthers fan west of Asheville. He previously served as the CMC’s marketing manager from 2013-2017. After a short stint away pursuing other digital marketing roles within the outdoor industry, he returned to the club in 2019 as director of CMC Press.

A former English major at UNC-Wilmington, his varied background in journalism, freelance writing, copyediting, public and media relations, project management, and content marketing makes him uniquely suited to captain the CMC’s publications department, even if it means trading in his beloved AP style for the Chicago Manual.

Jeff’s outdoor interests are as varied as the topics covered in CMC Press guidebooks, but you’ll most often find him summiting mountains, backpacking, desert hiking, packrafting, or ice climbing. His mountaineering resume includes all 58 of Colorado’s 14ers, Mt. Rainier (DC and Kautz Glacier), 18,491-foot Orizaba, Mt. Adams (Adams Glacier), Gannett Peak, and Mt. Hood. His favorite adventure partners are his wife, Liz, and Border Collie mix, Zia.
